Le poliammine sono sostanze dall’odore fetido, presenti in tutti gli alimenti, nei microorganismi, nelle piante, nei funghi e nelle cellule umane;

La presenza di poliammine nell’organismo deriva da tre fonti:

  1. dalle cellule dell’organismo in proliferazione, che lo producono e lo riversano nel sangue
  2. Dalla flora microbica intestinale, in particolare dai batteri cattivi tipici di chi mangia poca frutta, verdura e cibi integrali e mangia molti prodotti carnei, fermentati e formaggi.
  3. Dall’assunzione di alcuni alimenti particolarmente ricchi di poliammine come le Arance, i pompelmi, il Mango, i madarini, i formaggi e le carni

Le poliammine, svolgono importanti funzioni nell’organismo, quali:

  1. favoriscono la proliferazione e crescita cellulare
  2. proteggono il DNA dai radicali liberi
  3. Fungono da agenti antiossidanti
  4. prevengono la formazione di proteine glicate, quindi utili nei diabetici.
  5. Sono sostanze immunosoppressori, quindi da una parte riducono le forme allergiche, e dall’altra indeboliscono il sistema immunitario.

Tuttavia, nei malati oncologici, la produzione di poliammine nel sangue, tende ad incrementare;

Infatti i malati di tumore, presentano alti livelli di putrescina, spermina e spermidina nel sangue e nelle urine;

Quindi, il consumatore, deve seguire una dieta ricca di frutta, verdura, legumi, cereali integrali accompagnate con moderate quantità di proteine animali; Una dieta ricca di fibra e cibi freschi, favorisce la crescita di una flora batterica intestinale amica, tale da ridurre la sintesi intestinale di poliammine.

Inoltre alcuni scienziati consigliano ai malati oncologici di ridurre certi cibi naturalmente ricchi di poliammine, come:

  1. L’arancia ed il succo di arancia (ricca di putrescina e spermidina)
  2. il mandarino (ricca di putrescina e spermidina)
  3. Il pompelmo ed il succo di pompelmo (ricca di putrescina e spermidina)
  4. il Mango (ricca di putrescina e spermidina)
  5. I formaggi (ricchissima in Spermidina, Spermina, Putrescina e cadaverina)
  6. I cibi fermentati orientali, come il Miso, etc.
  7. le carni fermentate COME GLI INSACCATI (ricche di Spermina e spermidina)
  8. Il Keciap (ricca di putrescina e spermidina)
  9. I Krauti (ricca di putrescina)
  10. La crusca di riso (ricca fonte di putrescina)
